Single Device Connected to Modem
Device with Static IP Address
1 Log in to the modem web page, click UPLOAD, and then click BROWSE and select the template
named RLXIC-Ex_Static_IP, taking care to match the model number of your modem. Click
UPLOAD FILE TO MODEM and then click LOAD TEMPLATE.
2 Go to the LAN tab, ADDRESSING page, enter the IP address of the device you are connecting to
in the Starting IP and Ending IP fields, and then enter the default gateway of the device in the
Device IP field.
3 Go to the S
TATUS tab, HOME page, and note the IP address in the IP ADDRESS field. This is
the IP address that you will use to communicate with the attached device. If you have DHCP
address assigned by the carrier then you can use the DNS Device Name in place of the IP
address.
4 Click A
PPLY to write the changes and REBOOT to save the changes to the modem.
Device with DHCP Assigned IP Address
1 Verify that the connected device is set to DHCP, and does not have a static IP address
assigned.
2 Log in to the modem web page, click U
PLOAD, and then click BROWSE and select the template
named RLXIC-Ex_DHCP, taking care to match the model number of your modem. Click
UPLOAD FILE TO MODEM and then click LOAD TEMPLATE.
3 Go to the STATUS tab, HOME page, and note the IP address in the IP ADDRESS field. This is
the IP address that you will use to communicate with the attached device. If you have DHCP
address assigned by the carrier then you can use the DNS Device Name in place of the IP
address.
4 Click A
PPLY to write the changes and REBOOT to save the changes to the modem.
Multiple Destination Devices Connected to Modem
Connect Multiple Destination Devices to the Modem using Port Forwarding
1 Log in to the modem web page, click UPLOAD, and then click BROWSE and select the template
named RLXIC-Ex_Port_Forwarding, taking care to match the model number of your modem.
Click UPLOAD FILE TO MODEM and then click LOAD TEMPLATE.The modem can route packets to a
maximum of 19 devices connected to it assuming the PC (or other device) initiating
communication with the modem is able to send messages to both an IP address and a unique
service port.
2 Go to the SECURITY tab, P
ORT FORWARDING page, and enter the number of devices
connected to the modem in the Number of PF Entries field.
3 Next, click the A
DD MORE button and enter the IP address of the first connected device in the
HOST IP field, the public service port range that is used to send the message to that device in
the PUBLIC START PORT and PUBLIC END PORT fields, and the service port of the specific
device if applicable (e.g. Modbus/TCP uses port 502 and Ethernet/IP uses port 44818 for TCP
and port 2222 for UDP).
4 Repeat this for all connected devices.
5 Go to the S
TATUS tab, HOME page, and note the IP address in the IP Address field. This is the
IP address that you will use to communicate with the attached devices. If you have a DHCP
address assigned by the carrier then you can use the DNS Device Name in place of the IP
address. Use different service ports to direct messages to each of the connected devices per
the entries above.
6 Click A
PPLY to write the changes and REBOOT to save the changes to the modem.
